Electro Static Discharge Pad is one of the means of Dissipating (Neutralizing) Static Charge on the human body when touched with palm.
Construction of Electro Static Discharge TouchPad
Two Static Dissipative sheets are fixed on acrylic sheet with about 8.0 mm gap. These two sheets are connected to LED (Green) with 9.0 V Battery. A ground connection is provided on the top left.
When the Two-Static Dissipative sheets are touched with palm, the first RED LED glows and after 3 seconds GREEN LED glows. Since the pad is grounded, charges accumulated on the body dissipate and neutralize the body.

Static discharge pad is wall mounting type. This can be fixed in any Non-Hazardous areas near entrances. The earth terminal is to be connected to earth pit. Personnel entering should touch the pad with palm and when green light glows can remove the hand and enter the area.
