CONSTRICTION OF WRIST STRAP
A metal plate with an adjustable elastic Strap is connected with a coiled wire one end of which is connected to Wrist Strap and other end is fitted with a pin and Heavy-Duty Earth Clamp / Crocodile Clamp.
HOW TO USE WRIST STRAP AND ITS FUNCTION
The operator is to wear the Elastic Strap to one of the hands with a steel plate touching the body. The other end (Heavy Duty Earth Clamp / Crocodile Clamp) is to be connected to a known Earth strip. Static Charges generated during operator movements are grounded through Wrist Strap and Earth strip.
TESTING
Use a Multimeter or any other instrument capable of measuring 20.0 M. Ohms. To check the Wrist Strap, keep the selector at 20.0 M. Ohms and touch one end of the probe to metal plate and other end to Heavy Duty Earth Clamp / Crocodile Clamp. The permissible values are 0.75 M. Ohms to 10.0 M. Ohms. The minimum resistance of 0.75 M. Ohms is incorporated to give safety from electrical shocks.
